🎃 The Art of Spooky Season: Turning My Horror Illustrations into Wearable Art

Every October, I find myself drawn to the darker side of creativity, not just in subject matter, but in mood, tone, and imagination. There’s something about spooky season that feels freeing! It’s playful, nostalgic, and a little eerie all at once, the perfect mix for exploring horror-inspired art.
Last year, I channelled that inspiration into two of my favourite drawings to date: Pennywise and Ghostface. Both pieces were born out of my love for the storytelling and atmosphere that make classic horror films so timeless. I wanted to capture the emotion and tension of these characters, that strange mix of fear and fascination, through detailed pencil work and expressive shading.
From Horror Illustrations to Tote Bags
This year, I decided to bring those horror illustrations to life in a new way: as wearable art.
After seeing how much people connected with my horror-themed art prints last autumn, I wanted to create something that horror fans could actually carry with them, something functional that still felt like art. So I took my original Ghostface and Pennywise drawings and carefully mocked them up onto tote bag designs, experimenting with layouts, tones, and backgrounds until the balance felt just right!
Each tote is made in small batches, starting with hand-sewn blank tote bags from my mum (a lovely collaboration that makes each one feel even more special). Then I personally print and heat-press each design, making sure the details stay true to the original artwork. Every piece feels personal, crafted, and intentional.
Designs That Suit Every Horror Fan
You can choose from a few different versions of each design, from minimal and clean to bold and dramatic, depending on your style.
Each tote is lightweight, reusable, and eco-friendly, making it perfect for everyday use or as a statement accessory at conventions and spooky events. And if you prefer wall art over wearable art, both designs are also available as art prints, along with a few other Halloween-inspired pieces in my shop.
Available for a limited time only - after Halloween they will be unavailable until next year!
The Meaning Behind the Collection
For me, these tote bags aren’t just about making something new to sell. They represent a reminder of how art can evolve, how something you drew months or even years ago can take on a new life when you look at it differently.
That’s what I love about spooky season. It’s not just about ghosts and monsters, it’s about transformation, imagination, and bringing the things we create in the dark into the light.
A Little October Inspiration
So whether you’re a horror movie fan, a lover of all things Halloween, or just someone who enjoys a little eerie aesthetic, I hope these pieces bring a spark of inspiration to your October!
You can explore the Ghostface and Pennywise Tote Bags, and their matching art prints, now in my Etsy shop. 🖤
Kind words from some of our past customers
